Coral Caverns

Think there is nothing to do in your town? As you may have figured out I am a huge fan of being a tourist in your own community. How many times do you go on vacation, check out the sites and have a great time. Instead of spending the weekended inside your home watching TV or hanging out on the computer, google local tourist attractions! You maybe surprised of the hidden treasures you find in your own community.

On Saturday we decided to visit the Coral Caverns in Mann's Choice, PA. It was a great experience for kids and adults.

The  drive may surprise you, abandoned trains and cars with signs next to each display as you drive up a dirt road to the small General Store.
This is where you buy your tickets, it seems nothing else is for sale. Which means you won't be lured into over priced souvenirs. Instead is more like a museum which many interesting displays.

Of course after purchasing tickets you go into a Cave on a Guided tour. It is a family that owns the grounds with the Cave, so it is only open weekends because they have other jobs. Each member seems to take turns. We were fortunate to have their young son give the tour, he was well educated and impressive in his knowledge of the Coral Cavern Cave History.

And sometimes one of their two friendly dogs accompany you along on the tour.

The cost of the tour is $12.00 per adult, but if you send a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope to their address they will send you a coupon for a free Children's ticket.
