KidFresh-Product Review

Our family was selected to try KidFresh frozen meals. Mom's Meet sent two $4.00 off coupons to be used to select frozen meals. We took our six year old to Harris Teeter to select his meals. He was SHOCKED because we usually do not allow typical "kid food" in our home. He selected Wagon Wheels Mac+Cheese that has real grated cheddar + creamy cheese sauce with hidden vegetables. The dinners are $4.19 at Harris Teeter in Ellicot City, Maryland. Which seems expensive for small frozen meal. ( The coupons sent were for $4.00, so expect to pay at least $4.00 per meal)

As you can see he was excited to try it. The green packaging appealed to him.

It seems this brand is geared toward picky eaters with its limited choices of typical kid food. Chicken Nuggets, Mac  Cheese, Fish sticks, and pizza. It doesn't do a lot to expose children to new ideas or concepts, but instead hides the vegetables in the food. In my personal opinion this is NOT the way to expose your children to new foods or deal with the issue of a picky eater. My son LOVES to eat and hiding vegetables never was a never concern in our home, as I am a firm believer that if you do not expose them to junk food early they won't know it is an option. With that being said, I am always looking for a fun, fast and creative option for days we are rushed. My son was thrilled to have read the box and asked for the Macaroni and Cheese dinner for breakfast. I complied, because it seemed to be a relatively healthy dinner.

All the ingredients are easy to recognize with out chemicals or other gross items.

There is also a generous amount of cheese in the container.

Simple to make, just peel the plaster back to vent and heat for 3.5 minutes.

When it melts not all the Wagon Wheels get covered with the cheese. Leaving several naked wheels. Even when mixing it.

As you can see my son did eat it. He didn't complain about it, but it didn't thrill him like other meals that I make at home.

In my personal opinion, KidFresh meals are expensive, but okay to keep in the freezer for a day that is too busy to cook or when you forget to use your crock pot.

I received coupons for free product in exchange for an honest review  from Mom's Meet and Kid Fresh.

I do have a six year old and six month old, but I do NOT share identifying pictures of them for the sake of product reviews.  I take my children to too many public places to feel safe allowing the internet to know their names and identify them in public.

  1. That DOES seem a expensive for a single serve microwave kids meal. I do like that it seems to have real cheese in it. I know my son would eat this, he loves stuff like this. Like you though, I try to steer away from prepackaged meals. It is nice to have some in a pinch situation though

  2. Thanks for the honest review! It doesn't seem ideal but a good alternative if you've got nothing else around or are really pressed for time!

  3. That is expensive for a meal that clearly looks like a cheaply made product.

  4. I can't believe how expensive it is! Our kids get something similar in the frozen aisle at Walmart for about a dollar a piece. I couldn't spend $4 on just one lol ...Thanks for sharing your honest review :)

  5. This isn't processed. So I can see it being more than a $1.00. It just wasn't impressive enough. We tried the nuggets today and not impressed either 12 in a container for $4.19

  8. We tend to check all of the labels for ingredients, and generally speaking, if we can't pronounce it- we won't buy it. That being said, these do look like a good alternative to the typical boxed stuff.

  14. Honestly I am so freaking happy that you truly gave an honest review of this product. I hate when its all fluff. I try to limit frozen meals but every so often we get in a pinch and I need something quick and easy for my son and I do like that the foods they have do don't have all the chemicals. The price tag on them however is a bit of a turn off.
