Texas Sheet Cake

Apparently my super power is translating poorly written church cook books...

St Anthony's of Windber Church Cookbook

  10. 1 teaspoon baking soda
    1. *PRE HEAT OVEN TO 350

  1. Melt 2 cups of butter in a pan. (My cookware are Emeril Pots and Pans )

4. Remove from heat and add 1/2 tsp salt

5, Mix in two cups flour

6. Mix in two cups of sugar

7. Beat two eggs

8. Add the two beaten eggs to the chocolate mix

9. Add a small container of sour cream to the mix. (I freeze it when I get it free or cheap with coupons to use for baking) Both Breakstone and Daisy Sour cream send coupons when you email their company a compliment.

10. Mix in 1 teaspoon of baking soda

11, Spray the pan with baking spray or butter.

12. Sprinkle the pan with flour

13, Spread on a cookie sheet with sides. I use something similar to these

14. Make sure it is nice and smooth. Then bake for 25-35 minutes at 350.

Now use the SAME pan to make the icing.

Icing Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup butter
  2. 6 tablespoons milk
  3. 4 tablespoons cocoa
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla ( I was out of vanilla, but cut part of a vanilla bean instead.
  5. 1 pinch salt
  6. 1 box powdered sugar ( Domino sugar sends coupons when emailed a compliment)
1, Melt butter 1/2 cup butter and add 6 tablespoons milk to the SAME pan that the cake mix was prepared.

2. Add four tablespoons cocoa

3. Add vanilla or vanilla bean in my case.

 3. Remove from heat and add 1 box of POWDERED sugar,

4. Add a pinch of salt

After the cake is baked , remove from oven and ice hot.

It spreads better when hot.

Add some chocolate chips for extra fun.

I love having cookie sheets with a lid
